Introduction and Long Game

PK through fifth grade

Cartoon: A standing man standing speaks to a man seated in front of a wallboard with "Long Range Goals" on it: "We can't afford long term planning. We may not even be here tomorrow."

Raise Ready Kids helps parents raise children with the knowledge, skills, character, and purpose they’ll need to thrive as adults. The best way to parent is to immerse children in culture that features the values and mindsets that parents hope their children will adopt.

Key Strategies

  • Pay more attention to the parenting process than to immediate results. With parenting, as with other endeavors, good results follow from good practice. It’s the long game that counts.
  • Give your child and yourself the grace you need to find your way. No one is at their best every day. Accept that you and your child are going to make mistakes and learn to see them as learning opportunities.
  • Savor the journey as much as the destination. Childhood is not just training for adulthood; it’s important and valuable in its own right. Enjoy this time!
